DWF Convention

For those of you that don't know, this weekend is the Digital Wedding Forum Convention in Sunny Tampa, Florida, starting Friday January 4th thru Monday, January 7th. I'm a first time convention attendee and I'm so excited. This is an event where the professional photographers meet, network, have workshops, mentoring sessions, real live wedding scenarios, and so much more... oh we can't forget the Imaging USA Trade Show for the latest and greatest in Albums, Cameras, Equipment, Accessories, you name it and it will probably be there. So with all the goings on, I'm going to try and blog as much as I can, but if I don't, trust me there will be plenty to blog about when I get back...and those that will be attending DWF Convention I look forward to meeting you! Cheers!!!!

2008....it's Here!!!

Wow! It's finally here and so quickly. 2007 seem like it just came and went. This is my first posting for January 2008, of course and I'm excited. Back in Oct. 2006 I had the opportunity to attend an awesome photography workshop called Xtreme as some of you might remember and one of the projects we worked on was using available lighting in our surroundings, meaning NO FLASH, (if possible). Since last night a lot of folks were going out to party or getting together with friends and family, I wanted to used the opportunity to photograph images using only available lighting and last night I had the opportunity to do that. Yeah, I can't believe it myself, but I was one of the many who trailed down to the underground to photograph the dropping of the peach ball and the fireworks, but my focus and project was to use only the available lighting in my surroundings (no flash) and these are the photos that I came back with. Feel free to share a comment, or thought.

With each new year, you always want to do things a little different than the year before and 2008 is no exception. I'm not into making "New Year Resolutions" because I frequently reflect and set goals throughout my life, and in the coming days and weeks I'm going to share those with you be it professional or personal. But in the meantime and in between time I hope you enjoy my photographs.

Couldn't resist the Coca-Cola sign all nice and Neon Red

As you can see it was plenty packed....yes I'm still alittle in disbelief that I had the nerve to go down there.

Sweet Chloe

I had an opportunity to photograph an adorable little girl name "Chloe". She's 9 years old, with a personality of such a sweet, quite , and hidden spark when you least expect it. Since the wedding season is winding down this time of year I've been photographing kids and toddlers whenever I can. We shot these photos close to sunset, so you'll see alot of that golden sun throughout the photos. I love catching that last drink of sunlight, it's so beautiful!!! Here are some of my favorite from Chloe's photo session. I had quite a few favorites of this beautiful little girl, so enjoy!

FALL, FUN, and FOTOS in November

This blog posting is going to be a combination of shoots I did. This month is dedicated to LifeStyle Portrait Sessions. The collaboration of shoots consist of the First Annual Georgia Strobist Meet which was last month up at Hard Creek Labor Park (try saying that 5 times fast) in which I had a blast meeting and collaborating with other talented photographers, and the other is a Senior Session I had with Melvin, he will graduate Class of 2008. I was honored to photograph him. Also photographing with me was another photographer, my good friend Stephanie, you can check out her blog at www.photo-shy.blogpsot.com. She is an up and coming photographer who also has a passion for photography.

As I mentioned this Month is focusing on LifeStyle Portrait Sessions, since all of us will be taking a break and getting together with Family, Friends and Love Ones. Why not take advantage of that time to schedule LifeStyle Portrait Session for the month of November. Whether it's a Family event, an Engagement Announcement, or Family Portraits, whatever the occasion, preserve the memories! To reserve your session email me at michelle@mwsphotos.com or call me a 770.634.9999. Call today, since appointments are limited.

This is from the 1st annual Georgia Strobist Meet. Though I'm not a fan of flash it is a necessary thing but in this case we were testing the use of flash during the day, since it is so harsh, our focus was to use it without looking harsh. I love these shots of the model she was perfect for the camera :)

In these pictures I didn't use any flash at all, just that good ole natural sunlight!
